The goal of the Lake Oswego Girls Softball is to provide a safe, fun and instructional environment for all players ages 4 - 14.  This will be accomplished by placing girls on teams of players with similar abilities. If each child is placed correctly then it should prove to be a very enjoyable year for the player, parents and coaches. It is the responsibility of the Lake Oswego Girls Softball Board to ensure that this goal is met.

League Structure Overview:

Registration Opens Late December, Closes Early February. (LATE REGISTRATIONS NOT ACCEPTED)

Season Dates - March through 2nd week in June.

All Star Dates-  Districts: June 15th -21st  Depending on advancement next tournament will start on July 5th. 

• Every player will make a team and is determined by your players Little League age - see Registration Info tab to League Age and Levels of Play page for details.

Spring evaluations will be required for all AAA, Majors and Juniors players, and will be used by coaches for team placement (Based on Little League age) (evaluation date TBD in February and will be formally announced . 

• T-Ball, A and AA teams will be formed in late February after registration closes  and teams are dependent on total registrations received. These teams are formed based on various factors, e.g., player's school and neighborhood, coach request.

• Coaches will be reaching out to their players AFTER teams have been formed in late February

• Game schedules will be determined once our Lake Oswego Girls Softball representatives meet with the other District 4 Leagues (Tualatin, Tigard, Wilsonville, Beaverton, etc.). The meeting will happen in MID- March and is influenced by surrounding leagues and home field availability.  AFTER this meeting in late March Game and Practice schedules will be released to all head coaches.  GAMES CAN BE PLAYED MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

Practice Scheduling

 Practice days are not predetermined at the start of the season. Because we share field space with other LO spring sports, schedules are based on field availability.

Teams may be assigned practice times on any day Monday through Saturday. Coaches will communicate confirmed practice schedules as soon as they are finalized.

We appreciate your flexibility as we work to provide field access for all teams.

Player Uniform: uniform jersey, navy blue softball pants, light blue softball socks

A new uniform is required every season for participation in Little League International. Uniform orders will be sent out Mid-March.

Softball Gear includes and not provided:  Uniform,  fielding glove, batting helmet, cleats (other sports cleats, no metal cleats), fielding facemask protection (commonly called a "Rip-it") and if you can a few softballs for practicing at home. 

"Rip-it/Fielding Masks: (Little League does not require fielding masks but is highly recommended for safety. LO LL requires facemask for pitcher, 1st & 3rd. All other positions HIGHLEY recommended)

RIP-IT, Schutt, Worth and Mizuno are popular brands of masks, which are usually made of lightweight plastic or composite material. Masks range in price from $30 to $60.  We recommend checking out Play It Again Sports for lightly used gear or waiting for our coupon weekend at Dick’s Sporting Goods in early March. 

• Practices and home games will be played at Lakeridge Middle School, Lakeridge HS ,Lake Grove Elementary School, Westlake Park, George Rogers Park,  - see below for field locations. Field details may vary.
