FALL NEWS LETTER 2023

Hello Softball Families,

We have just wrapped up our second season of Fall Softball, thank you to the families, coaches and umpires that participated, we truly couldn’t have done it without you! Fall ball will be back in 2024 with some enhancements as our other local leagues covered under D4 want to continue to grow their programs as well. This includes opening fall ball to even more age groups!

Next, Spring 2024 Softball signup is just around the corner, we will send out several email reminders when registration opens. We have a few new things the board is hard at work on for the Spring 2024 season:

  1. We’re creating what we’re calling the “Pitching Accelerator Program” which we will be partnering with D-Bat PDX West in Tigard. If your daughter is a pitcher or wants to be a pitcher, this is the program for you. For an additional $100 this will entitle you to joining 6 hour long pitching clinics (all on Sunday’s) to work with D-Bat’s professional pitching coaches. While not required, these will be highly recommended for your daughter to work on their pitching skill or get introduced to the position!

  2. While on the topic of D-Bat West, we are excited to announce that we will be having TWO league takeovers this year! Last year was the first year we did this event, and it was VERY well received by the girls. For those that haven’t gone, this is an opportunity for your girls to dust off their softball skills in an indoor facility along with being able to hit in the 4 automated batting cages!

LO Girls Softball LL Board

Mom’s, if you’re thinking of getting involved, we invite you to watch the following video released by Little League about Growing Females in Coaching in the link below-

Growing Females in Coaching - Little League

Thank you,

Lastly, we are always in need of coaches, no experience is necessary. I know that this sounds daunting to take on. All of us as first-time coaches have felt this way as well. Coaching girls softball at any experience level is truly a rewarding experience! If you have ANY interest in coaching, our LOLL Softball President Josh Jaster will be hosting a virtual Q&A session about coaching, no experience necessary and no obligation. We will be sending out invites for this soon, if this is something that you’re even remotely considering, please sign up and attend!

Please save the date for the following dates:

Saturday January 27th – 6:30PM

Saturday February 24th – 6:30PM
