A MESSAGE FROM OUR BOARD:
Hello LO Softball Families,
We hope that everyone is staying healthy and safe. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to change the way that we, as a community and as global citizens, think, act, gather, learn and live our daily lives.
Following the guidelines set forth by the State of Oregon and LOSD, Lake Oswego Girls Softball Little League has further suspended all practices and softball-related activities through April 28th.
As of now, we will plan for and hope that our season can continue uninterrupted after April 28th. We will monitor the situation as it evolves in the coming weeks and follow recommendations from local & state governments, along with the CDC.
Here is some more information based on frequently asked questions:
Will the date be pushed back past April 28th, and if so, when will we know that directive?
At this time, we do not know but we are closely monitoring. We recognize that spring is the heart of the traditional Little League season, and we share in the great disappointment that many are feeling surrounding this additional suspension. However, it is our hope that by doing this, we will all play a small, but important part in flattening the curve in the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
As this situation evolves, Little League International is committed to sharing the best guidance possible for all of our 6,500 leagues in more than 84 countries. It is our sincere hope that we can find ways to bring everyone back to the Little League fields this season, whether that is later this spring or throughout the summer.
Will the season be canceled?
To reiterate, our plan is that the LOGSLL season can continue uninterrupted after April 28th. Additionally, Little league international is looking into extending the season into the summer. At this time, as this is a developing situation, we are exploring all possibilities. We will continue to keep our families informed in a timely manner to allow for appropriate preparations.
Can I get a refund?
As you know we are a non-profit, volunteer-run organization. We are trying to balance the needs of our families while being mindful of the future of our league. At this time, we are not issuing refunds because we believe the season will still happen in some capacity. We will continue to review league finances to determine how much needs to be allocated to non-refundable expenses.
What can I do with my softballer as we wait for the season to start?
The best way to prepare your player for the season is some good old-fashioned backyard "catch"! We also recommend tee work or soft-toss to get the swing going. Check out these online softball resources:
We appreciate your patience as we work through this unique situation.

Before registering, please review the League Overview and the Levels of Play pages to determine the best fit for your softball player. The league suggests that most returning players play at the same level as they participated in 2019, unless the player developed the skills and/or aged up to participate in the next level.
